IMPORTANT RESTRICTIONS

1.  You will have an incision inside the vagina that needs to heal.  Therefore, it is important to have "pelvic rest" for four weeks.  This means nothing in the vagina - no tampons, sex, etc. for four weeks.

2.  We all want to make sure the sling heals in its proper location, and that you don't stress the bladder repair in the immediate post-operative period.  NO LIFTING MORE THAN 15 POUNDS FOR 3 - 4 WEEKS AFTER YOUR SURGERY.

Because most women have almost no pain or problems after their procedure, many are doing too much during the early healing period.

To heal properly and to make sure you do not damage the sling and bladder repair before it can heal, please follow these instructions.
THINGS YOU CAN DO

1.  It is OK to drive the week after your surgery if you are no longer on prescription pain medicine.

2.  You can return to work (as long as it does not involve lifting or straining) as soon as you feel ready - usually within one to two weeks.
