Dr. Garo Tertzakian is the Medical Director and the senior renal transplant surgeon of the Renal Transplantation Program at Western Medical Center (WMC) in Santa Ana, CA.
Dr. Tertzakian has held this position since the inception of the program in 1988. To date, approximately 350 kidney transplants have been performed at WMC with excellent results. Since 1980, Dr. Tertzakian has performed over 600 kidney transplants at Western Medical Center, U.C. Irvine Medical Center and Saint Joseph Hospital.
Dr. Tertzakian performed the first laparoscopic donor nephrectomy in Orange County on October 13, 2000 at WMC.
The WMC renal transplant program remains the leader in laparoscopic donor nephrectomies in Orange County.
